Now I'm going to teach you how to make a delicious Vietnamese soup. This soup is called "Pho Ga". Pho is a Vietnamese soup made with chicken or beef with rice noodles. This soup is very popular not only in Vietnam but all over the world in Vietnamese restaurants.
Pho Ga is a type of Pho made from chicken. So now I am going to teach you a simple recipe that can make Pho Ga.
This is a good filling soup as the noodles with chicken also contain yam. No mess like dinner.
Ingredients: (Make soup for two)
Chicken 250g (cut into medium sized pieces)
Rice Vermicelli Noodle Cup 1/2 cup (Prepare the noodles according to the instructions on the packet. These noodles are available in Sri Lankan shops with names like "white rice vermicelli").
3 cups of water
1 cup of onion (for frying - finely chopped)
1/4 cup of onion (finely chopped)
Teaspoon of ginger (thinly sliced)
Teaspoon of salt
Teaspoon of fish sauce (available at supermarkets)
1/4 cup of onion leaves (finely chopped)
1/4 cup of coriander leaves (chopped)
An oil for frying onions and ginger
How to make:
First we make chicken broth,
Place the pan in a slightly deeper saucepan and add three cups of water.
Add chicken, finely chopped onion and salt and bring to a boil.
Then close the lid and let the chicken simmer for about 15 minutes until well cooked.
While the chicken is boiling we need to make a crispy onion paste,
Put a saucepan on the stove, add enough oil and let it heat up well.
Add finely chopped onion to the heated oil and stir fry well.
Once the onion is golden brown enough to be crispy, remove the oil and set aside.
Put finely chopped ginger in the same pan and fry for about 2 minutes, keeping the oil aside.
Once the chicken is well cooked,
Remove the chicken pieces from the pan and leave to dry.
Peel a squash, grate it and chop finely (not necessarily).
Once the chicken pieces have cooled, shred them into small pieces and set aside to add to the soup
Also, if there are any thorns left, remove them. They do not matter to us.
OK! Now let's make Pho Ga,
Place the pan in a slightly deeper saucepan.
Add the filtered chicken broth to it.
Add fried onions and ginger and stir well.
Add onion leaves, coriander leaves and fish sauce and bring the mixture to a boil.
When it boils well for 2-3 minutes, add the shredded chicken and the prepared noodles.
Finally we need to mix the mixture well and remove from the oven. that's all! It would be great if the Pho Ga removed from the stove could be served hot at home.
